Pak intel agencies violently suppress Sindh protests: JSFM chief
The Jeay Sindh Freedom Movement (JSFM), a political party advocating for the freedom of Sindhu Desh, has raised concerns about the Pakistani intelligence agencies’ use of violent measures to suppress peaceful protests. According to a joint statement issued by JSFM Central Chairman Sohail Abro and other leaders, the authorities are resorting to filing false FIRs and terrorism charges to stifle dissent.
Violence and Human Rights Violations
The statement highlights a recent incident in Larkana where Shaheed Hidayat Lohar was killed, and several individuals, including Taj Joyo, Sarang Joyo, and Sohni Joyo, were injured during clashes. Furthermore, political workers like Sasai Lohar and Surath Lohar have reportedly been arrested, with false charges filed against them. This escalation of violence underscores the volatile situation in Sindh, where peaceful protests are met with repression, resulting in injuries and arrests.
Call for International Intervention
JSFM leaders liken the situation in Sindh to that of Balochistan and urge Sindhi people to adopt a similar stance in their struggle for autonomy. They call upon international organizations such as the United Nations, Human Rights Watch, and Amnesty International to intervene and address the alleged human rights violations by the Pakistani state.
The JSFM’s statement reflects the grievances of the Sindhi people, portraying a narrative of resistance against perceived oppression and marginalization within Pakistan. It emphasizes the urgency for international attention and intervention to ensure accountability and justice for the affected individuals and communities.
