Recently, Oppo unveiled the Oppo Reno 11 and Oppo Reno 11 Pro, and now, fresh information has emerged about their potential successor, the Oppo Reno 12 series. A leaked internal document is purported to disclose key specifications for the upcoming smartphones, indicating a 50-megapixel telephoto lens with 2x optical zoom. According to the leaked document, the anticipated launch date for these devices is June 2024, though pricing details remain undisclosed.

The leaked document, obtained by MSPowerUser, sheds light on the specifications of both models. Notably, the Oppo Reno 12 Pro is rumored to feature the ‘MediaTek Dimension 9200’ chipset, technically identified as MTK DX2, which corresponds to the MediaTek Dimensity 9200. In contrast, the standard Oppo Reno 12 might be equipped with a chipset referred to as MKT 24M, a designation not matching any existing processor from the company. It is important to note that Gadgets 360 has not been able to verify the authenticity of the alleged document.

The front camera of the Oppo Reno 12 Pro is expected to boast a 50-megapixel sensor with autofocus. The leaked document suggests a configuration of 12GB RAM and two storage options: 256GB and 512GB. Powering the device could be a robust 5,000mAh battery with 67W charging support, accompanied by an IP65 rating for water and dust resistance.

On the other hand, the vanilla Oppo Reno 12 is rumored to feature a 6.7-inch OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate. It is reported to share the same camera unit as the Pro variant, with the exception of the front camera lacking autofocus. The device may come with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of inbuilt storage, supported by a 5,000mAh battery featuring 67W charging support.

Based on the leaked information, the primary distinctions between the Oppo Reno 12 and Oppo Reno 12 Pro lie in the choice of chipset and the presence of autofocus in the front camera. However, it’s crucial to acknowledge that the leaked details are preliminary, and considerable changes may occur before the official launch of the Oppo Reno 12 series, expected in June 2024.
