OnePlus 12 and 12R Prices Revealed; OnePlus 12 Anticipated to Surpass OnePlus 11 in Cost

The global debut of the OnePlus 12 and OnePlus 12R is scheduled for January 23 in India and other markets. Leaked US pricing details have surfaced just days ahead of the official announcement. The OnePlus 12 is anticipated to be positioned as a flagship smartphone, potentially surpassing the pricing of its predecessor, the OnePlus 11. Conversely, the OnePlus 12R is expected to offer a more budget-friendly price point.

The OnePlus 12 has already made its debut in China, featuring a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC and a robust 5,400mAh battery with 100W wired SuperVOOC charging support. The US pricing for the OnePlus 12R, as reported by TechPlus in German, starts at $499 (approximately Rs. 35,000) for the base model with 8GB RAM and 128GB storage. The higher-end variant, equipped with 16GB RAM and 256GB storage, is expected to retail for $599 (roughly Rs. 42,000).

On the other hand, the OnePlus 12 is projected to be priced at $799 (approximately Rs. 66,400) for the 12GB RAM + 256GB storage variant, while the 16GB RAM + 512GB configuration is expected to cost $899 (roughly Rs. 74,000). This represents a price increase compared to its predecessor, the OnePlus 11, which was launched at $699 (approximately Rs. 58,000) for the 8GB RAM + 128GB storage version. The OnePlus 12 is positioned to compete with premium smartphones such as the Apple iPhone 15, Samsung Galaxy S23, and Google Pixel 8 in its price segment.

The ‘Smooth Beyond Belief’ event on January 23 will mark the global launch of both the OnePlus 12 and OnePlus 12R. The OnePlus 12 was initially introduced in China in December, starting at CNY 4,299 (approximately Rs. 50,700) for the base configuration with 12GB RAM and 256GB storage.

Running on Android 14-based ColorOS 14, the OnePlus 12 boasts a 6.82-inch quad-HD+ LTPO OLED screen with a 120Hz refresh rate and a peak brightness of 4,500 nits. It is powered by a 4nm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset with up to 24GB of LPDDR5X RAM. The device features a Hasselblad-tuned triple rear camera setup and a 32-megapixel front camera. Additionally, it offers up to 1TB of UFS 4 inbuilt storage and houses a 5,400mAh battery with support for 100W SuperVOOC charging, 50W wireless charging, and 10W reverse wireless charging.

The OnePlus 12R is expected to be a scaled-down version of the OnePlus 12, running on the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC and featuring a 6.7-inch AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate. The handset is rumored to include a triple rear camera setup, led by a 50-megapixel primary sensor with optical image stabilization (OIS).
