National Conference (NC) leader Omar Abdullah has spoken out about the recent Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council-Kargil (LAHDC-Kargil) elections, where the BJP faced a significant defeat. This development has far-reaching implications for the region and political landscape.

A Wake-Up Call for BJP

Omar Abdullah, a prominent political figure, emphasized that the BJP’s resounding defeat in the LAHDC-Kargil elections should serve as a wake-up call for the saffron party. Message Against Division

Abdullah highlighted that the election result in Kargil sends a clear message against the division of the former state of Jammu and Kashmir, particularly without the consent of the local population. It is a reflection of the sentiment of the people of the region who have rejected unilateral decisions.

Celebrating the Alliance Victory

Abdullah expressed his satisfaction with the strong alliance between the NC and the Congress, celebrating their victory in the LAHDC-Kargil elections. He recognized the people of Zanskar, Kargil, and Drass for decisively endorsing the NC-Congress alliance and praised the elected councillors for their dedication to public service.

A Call for Democracy

The former Jammu and Kashmir chief minister called upon the BJP to acknowledge the people’s desire for a democratically-elected government in the region. He stressed that democracy demands the voices of the people be heard and respected, signaling a need for transparency and public participation in decision-making.

Abdullah concluded by thanking the party workers for their unwavering commitment to ensuring the election victory. He reiterated the NC’s dedication to democracy, justice, and unity, while working tirelessly to uphold the rights and aspirations of the people of Jammu and Kashmir.
