The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has advised Paytm FASTag users to switch to other banks by March 15 to avoid penalties or double fee charges while commuting on national highways.
Paytm Payments Bank Ceases Services Following RBI Instructions
Following serious rule violations, the Paytm Payments Bank will stop offering services from tomorrow, as per instructions from the RBI.
Understanding FASTag
FASTag is an electronic toll collection system operational on highways throughout India. It involves a small tag stuck on a vehicle’s windshield, linked to the user’s prepaid account. As vehicles pass through toll plazas, sensors read the FASTag ID, automatically deducting toll charges.
How to Apply for a New FASTag?
Visit authorized banks or financial institutions like SBI, ICICI Bank, HDFC, and Axis Bank. Consider factors such as fees, ease of application, and additional benefits offered. Fill in the FASTag application form with accurate details and upload KYC documents. Pay the necessary fees and await verification. Once activated, recharge the linked account for toll payments.
