    The tragic crash of a Saurya Airlines plane at Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu has resulted in the deaths of 18 out of the 19 people on board, with only the pilot surviving and currently receiving treatment at Kathmandu Medical College Hospital.

    The incident occurred during takeoff when the plane, heading to Pokhara, slipped off the runway. Despite the monsoon season, it was not raining at the time, though visibility was low.

    Images from local media depict smoke and wreckage at the crash site. The airport has been closed as emergency crews manage the situation. Saurya Airlines operates Bombardier CRJ 200 aircraft on its domestic routes.

    According to Nepal Police, nearly 15 bodies have been recovered so far from the Saurya Airlines plane that crashed at Kathmandu’s Tribhuvan International Airport. The aircraft was carrying 19 people when it slipped off the runway during takeoff. Efforts are ongoing to manage the aftermath of the crash and account for all passengers and crew members.

    According to a report by Reuters citing officials, at least 18 bodies have been recovered from the small plane that caught fire after skidding off the runway at Kathmandu’s Tribhuvan International Airport. The aircraft, operated by Saurya Airlines, was carrying 19 people when it crashed. Rescue operations are continuing to manage the situation and recover any remaining individuals.
