NCDC Emphasizes Disaster Management After Tragic Landslide Incident
Srinagar: In a recent core committee meeting, the National Child Development Council (NCDC) members have highlighted the urgent need for enhanced disaster management strategies following a tragic incident in the Kannada district of Karnataka.
The disappearance of a 30-year-old youth, Arjun, in a landslide has prompted the NCDC to stress the importance of disaster preparedness.
During the meeting, NCDC members proposed making disaster management a compulsory subject in educational institutions and integrating Satellite Cameras into disaster response efforts.
They also suggested providing training to communities in disaster-prone areas, conducting new research, and deploying additional scientists to address environmental challenges.
Moreover, the NCDC members spoke over the critical role of safety protocols and advocated for increased social awareness to tackle natural calamities effectively.
As an autonomous organization dedicated to the welfare of women and children, the NCDC plays a pivotal role in promoting high-quality education nationwide.
