Srinagar, September 02, 2026 [VoM News]: Today, Jammu Kashmir politics witnessed a heavy political drama when Bhartiya Janta Party, the ruling party in Centre protested against the ruling National Conference party in Jammu and Kashmir.

The protest began at Lal chowk and attempts were by the Bhartiya Janta party leaders and workers gathered to march towards the Jahangir Chowk, and Civil Secretariat.

The police stopped the matching protesters to prevent them from it from proceeding towards the civil Secretariat.

On the other side, the ruling National Conference took the moment as gladmare, and counter protest against the opposition party.

The National Conference workers, party leaders gathered at Rajbagh, and were marching towards the party headquarter.

The police stopped the procession and stopped them with force and prevented them from reaching the party office.

The social media is flooded with the viral clips, where it could be seen that the party workers of Bhartiya Janta Party and National Conference were lathicharged.

In another viral video, National conference MLA, Tanvir Sadiq could be seen clashing with the security forces as he tries to match towards the party office of the Bhartiya Janta Party.

A strong brigade of security personnel were deployed at both the locations, to prevent any law and order situation.

As social media has gone buzz regarding this prptest, some are stating, if ruling parties in centre and union territory are protesting against each other, “Where will common man go?”
