NC candidate’s brother booked under SC ST Act

JAMMU, Sept 29: The brother of a National Conference (NC) leader was booked under the Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe (Prevention of Atrocities) Act here today.
A police official said that Ranjeet Singh of Jandial, who is the brother of NC leader and party’s contesting candidate from Nagrota Assembly segment, Joginder Singh Kaku, was booked under the SC ST (PoT) Act on the complaint of one Alok Kumar of Jandial, at Police Station Gharota.
The police official further said that FIR number 90/2024 under section 3(1)(r)(s) of the SC ST Act was registered against the accused on the direction of Returning Officer who had been approached by the complainant seeking necessary legal action against the accused.
According to him, SDPO Akhnoor has been entrusted the investigation of the case.
