Nawaz Sharif Set to Strengthen PML-N Alliances in Balochistan
LAHORE: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) supremo Nawaz Sharif is gearing up for a strategic move, with plans to visit Balochistan tomorrow to enhance his party’s alliances with regional players. This development comes on the heels of the PML-N’s recent alliance with the MQM-P and their outreach efforts to other political entities in Sindh.
Building Bridges in Karachi and Beyond
In a significant step towards coalition-building, senior leaders of PML-N, led by Khawaja Saad Rafique, engaged with key figures in Karachi, including a meeting with Peer Saheb Pagara. During these discussions, they conveyed Nawaz Sharif’s message and initiated talks with the Muttahida Qaumi Movement Pakistan (MQM-P) and other influential parties in the region.
The PML-N delegation is scheduled to visit the MQM-P markaz in Bahadurabad to discuss further steps after the coalition elections. As Nawaz Sharif makes a strategic move into Balochistan, meetings with PML-N Balochistan’s leadership are on the agenda, with indications suggesting the potential inclusion of Balochistan Awami Party (BAP) leaders and other notable Baloch figures into the PML-N fold.
Expanding Political Footprint in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa
Simultaneously, the PML-N is eyeing another significant alliance, this time in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK) province. Plans are underway to collaborate with the JUI-F, ANP, and Pashtunkhwa Milli Awami Party, marking a comprehensive effort to extend the party’s influence across the country.
Nawaz Sharif’s return to active politics, following his four-year stay in London, is proving pivotal as the PML-N strategically navigates political landscapes, setting the stage for a dynamic and collaborative approach in the upcoming 2024 elections.
