Mehraj Malik’s PSA Detention Case Scheduled for Today, Supports waiting For Return

Jammu, Jan 29: The High Court of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh at Jammu will hear a Habeas Corpus Petition (HCP No. 139/2025) for final hearing on Thursday before Justice Rajesh Sekhri, as per the Supplementary Cause List-1.

The petition has been filed by Mehraj Din Malik, MLA from Doda East, Jammu & Kashmir, through his father Shamas Din, a senior citizen, against the Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir, represented by the Principal Secretary, Home Department, and others.

Mehraj Malik was arrested under the Public Safety Act (PSA) and is currently lodged in Kathua Jail. His detention has sparked widespread political and public interest across the region.

Along with the main petition, several connected applications—CM Nos. 7818/2025, 7819/2025, 6132/2025 and 6133/2025—are also listed for consideration.

Senior Advocate S. S. Ahmed is appearing for the petitioner, while Monika Kohli represents the respondents.
