Incident Details and Government Response
According to reports, a group of unidentified individuals attacked a group of foreign students, throwing stones and vandalizing hostel rooms during the Namaz. Ahmedabad Commissioner of Police, GS Malik, provided insights into the incident, stating that around 20-25 people confronted the students, questioning their choice of location for prayers and instigating a confrontation. Swift police action led to the registration of FIRs against the perpetrators, with one individual identified. Two students from Sri Lanka and Tajikistan sustained injuries and were hospitalized.
Government’s Seriousness and Investigation
Vice Chancellor Neerja Arun Gupta affirmed the gravity of the situation, highlighting that the FIR has been lodged, and both the police and government are actively addressing the matter.
