MC Doda Honors Martyrs with Amrit Kalash Yatra
In a heartfelt event organized by the district administration in Doda, the Municipal Council Doda celebrated an Amrit Kalash Yatra as a tribute to the martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the nation. The event, held under the “Meri Mati-Mera Desh” campaign, symbolized unity and reverence.
The event was spearheaded by District Development Commissioner Vishesh Mahajan, with active coordination from Executive Officer Yousaf Ul Umar. The Amrit Kalash, containing soil collected from various wards of MC Doda, was artfully placed in a beautifully decorated urn. The Additional District Development Commissioner Doda, Shri Pran Singh (JKAS), graced the event as the chief guest. This yatra is part of a prestigious nationwide initiative launched by the Union Home Minister of India to honor the memory of the fallen heroes.
Community Participation in the “Meri Mati-Mera Desh” Campaign
As part of the second phase of the “Meri Mati-Mera Desh” campaign in the district, members of the public from different communities actively participated in the Amrit Kalash Yatras. They collected soil from their respective wards, filled Amrit Kalash urns, and sent them to the Municipal Council head office at Town Hall Doda. These Amrit Kalashs will ultimately journey to the District Headquarters, leading up to a grand event planned for October 22, 2023. On this date, all the Amrit Kalashs from various blocks and Municipalities will converge in Doda before making their way to the capital city of Jammu and then to the national capital.
