Maruti Suzuki Aims to Surpass 300k Units in Overseas Shipments by FY25
Maruti Suzuki India targets over 300,000 units in overseas shipments for FY25, as part of a strategy aiming for 800,000 units by 2030. The company plans to introduce additional models across its expansive export markets, covering more than 100 countries. Moreover, it intends to strengthen its distribution network by implementing successful practices adopted in India.
Rahul Bharti, Maruti Suzuki India Executive Director Corporate Affairs, highlighted the company’s impressive growth, with exports reaching 2.83 lakh units in FY24. He emphasized alignment with the government’s vision to boost India’s exports, aiming for a greater share of global trade.
The company plans to export electric vehicles (EVs) to advanced markets like Japan and Europe, starting production in FY25. Bharti expressed confidence in crossing the 3 lakh units mark in exports for FY25, with a focus on expanding model launches and distribution networks.
Maruti Suzuki’s export strategy includes implementing best practices from India in international markets, such as facilitating bank finance, after-sales services, parts availability, and customer complaint handling. These initiatives aim to attract more buyers and reflect in export numbers.
In FY24, Maruti Suzuki achieved a historic milestone in exports, reaching 283,067 units, surpassing previous records. Its principal export destinations included South Africa, Saudi Arabia, Chile, Mexico, the Philippines, Indonesia, and Ivory Coast. Notable exported models included the Baleno, Dzire, Swift, S Presso, Grand Vitara, Jimny, Celerio, and Ertiga.
