    Man Dies After Being Taken From Court During Matrimonial Proceedings at Udhampur

    Udhampur, October 01 (published on october 03): A man reportedly died following proceedings in a matrimonial matter at the District Court Complex, Udhampur, on Thursday, according to information received by Kanoon Ki Dastak from a reliable source.

    The matter, Mumtaz Begum v. Farooq Ahmed, arising under Section 488 of the Ranbir Penal Code (RPC), was listed before the Court of the Additional Special Mobile Magistrate, Udhampur.

    According to the information received, execution proceedings were pending in the matter. During the proceedings, Farooq Ahmed reportedly deposited a comparatively small amount towards the amount payable in the execution proceedings. The payment was reportedly objected to during the proceedings.

    Sources further stated that, following directions issued during the proceedings, Farooq Ahmed was taken from the courtroom by the concerned Naib Court/Naib Kote.

    He subsequently reportedly died.

    The exact circumstances surrounding his death, including what transpired after he was taken from the courtroom and the immediate cause of death, are presently unclear.
