Main Accused in Attempt to Murder Case Arrested by Samba Police; Desi Katta Recovered

Samba, April 27, 2025:
In a major breakthrough, Samba Police have arrested the prime accused in an attempt to murder case registered at Police Station Vijaypur. Authorities also recovered a Desi Katta (country-made pistol) from the accused’s possession.

According to reports, on April 20, 2025, a complaint was lodged by Shivdeep Singh, son of Kuldeep Singh, a resident of Suchani Bagla, Tehsil Vijaypur, District Samba. In his written complaint, Singh alleged that a group of 5 to 6 individuals, armed with firearms and criminal intent, had attempted to kill him in the village of Rahya Vijaypur.

Acting swiftly on the complaint, Police Station Vijaypur registered FIR No. 42/2025 under sections 109, 307, 324(4), 115(2), 351(2), 191(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), along with Section 3/25 of the Arms Act.

During the course of investigation, a police team led by the SHO Vijaypur, under the close supervision of the SDPO Vijaypur and overall supervision of SSP Samba, utilized both human intelligence and technical surveillance to trace and apprehend the accused.

The arrested individual has been identified as Vishal Sharma, also known as Vishu and Shooter, son of Bishan Dass, a resident of Khojipur Kheri, Tehsil Bishnah, District Jammu. A Desi Katta was recovered from his possession following his disclosure during interrogation.

Further investigation into the case is ongoing, and more arrests and recoveries are expected.
