Liechtenstein Foreign Minister Boosts Ties in India

Liechtenstein’s Foreign Minister, Dominique Hasler, arrived in New Delhi for an official visit, strengthening economic and commercial collaboration between the two nations. MEA spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal expressed optimism about enhancing partnerships, emphasizing the potential for economic growth.

Secretary (West) Sanjay Verma’s crucial visit to Liechtenstein in December marked a diplomatic stride. The visit included discussions with Ambassador Martin Frick, exploring untapped avenues of cooperation. Both sides acknowledged 30 years of diplomatic relations, identifying sectors like industrial innovation, digitalization, medical science, and niche technologies for potential collaboration.

Bilateral Discussions and Future Prospects

During the visit, discussions centered on the India-EFTA Trade and Economic Partnership (TEPA), India’s G20 Presidency, and global and regional issues of mutual interest. Recognizing the completion of three decades of diplomatic ties, there was mutual agreement on the scope for enhancing overall relations.

Invitation for Business Delegation and Industrial Visit

As part of strengthening ties, Secretary (West) extended an invitation to a business delegation from Liechtenstein to explore opportunities in India. Additionally, a visit to the industrial facility of Hilti Corporation, a global leader in construction solutions, highlighted collaboration potential. With approximately 2000 employees in India, Hilti serves as a key player in the construction industry.
