In an ongoing effort to tackle the growing drug menace, Kulgam Police have arrested a drug peddler in the Khudwani area, seizing a significant amount of contraband. The arrest took place on October 28 when a police team from Qaimoh Police Station set up a checkpoint at the Khudwani Bypass.
During a routine vehicle check, the police stopped a truck with the registration number JK03F-4926. Upon a thorough search of the vehicle, 4 kilograms of poppy straw-like contraband was found concealed in the truck’s toolbox. The accused, identified as John Mohd Mandoo, son of Ghulam Rasool Mandoo, hailing from Redwani Payeen, was immediately taken into custody.
A case has been filed against Mandoo under FIR No. 98/2024 at Qaimoh Police Station, and further investigations are underway to uncover the full extent of the drug network. The police are determined to pursue all leads in this case and are committed to eradicating drug-related crime from the area.
Authorities are urging the public to come forward with any information that could assist in the fight against drug trafficking. They emphasized that those found involved in such activities will face strict legal action. The police continue to conduct similar operations, aiming to build a safer and drug-free environment for the community.
