In a heartwarming display of compassion and generosity, the Al-Noor Welfare Society, a local Non-Governmental Organization (NGO), organized a mass marriage event that brought together almost 100 brides from underprivileged backgrounds, including many who were orphans.
This event has been taking place since 2012, with the aim of assisting people with different needs, particularly focusing on the marriages of underprivileged women. The NGO covers the expenses of the weddings, helping brides and their families without imposing a financial burden.
Shabir Ahmad, the head of the NGO, mentioned that the number of brides they support has grown over the years, and this event saw the marriage of 100 brides at once. Generous donations from financially sound individuals in Kashmir make these events possible.
Many of the brides in this event are orphans or come from dire financial situations. The inclusive nature of these welfare efforts is highlighted by the fact that one bride belonged to a different religion.
The organizers emphasized that they do not discriminate based on any criteria and provide assistance to those in need, regardless of their origin or religious affiliation.
Brides who benefited from this event expressed their gratitude, noting the significant relief and support provided to them and their families.
