    J&K Govt Orders Inquiry Into Alleged Misrepresentation District Mineral Officer Rajouri

    The Government of Jammu and Kashmir has ordered an inquiry into allegations of misrepresentation of facts by the District Mineral Officer (DMO) of Rajouri and issued directions for administrative changes in the department.

    According to Government Order No. 20-JK(MNG) of 2026 dated March 10, issued by the Mining Department, Jammu and Kashmir, Shafiq Ahmad Choudhary has been attached with the office of the Joint Director, Geology and Mining, Jammu.

    The order states that the Joint Director, Geology and Mining, Jammu has been appointed as the Inquiry Officer to investigate the matter related to the alleged misrepresentation of facts by the Rajouri DMO. The officer has been directed to conduct a detailed probe and submit a report within 15 days for further action.

    Consequently, Rahul Bhat, presently posted in the office of the Senior Drilling Engineer, Jammu, has been deployed as the District Mineral Officer, Rajouri in place of Shafiq Ahmad Choudhary with immediate effect.

    The order was issued by Ashwani Kumar, Financial Commissioner (Additional Chief Secretary) of the Mining Department.

    Copies of the order have been forwarded to officials including the Joint Secretary (J&K) in the Ministry of Home Affairs, the Director of Geology and Mining, and other concerned authorities for necessary action.
