
Jammu Police South zone Intensifies Crackdown on Public Intoxication, Detains Over 25 Individuals; Also Launches Senior Citizen Outreach Initiative
Jammu, March 7, 2025: In a robust move to maintain public order and ensure community safety, South Zone Police have intensified its operations to target public intoxication. During a targeted operation on March 6, 2025, Police detained more than 25 individuals found consuming alcohol in vehicles across the region.
This crack down sends a clear message, a behaviour that endangers public peace will not be tolerated. Jammu police is committed to upholding the Rule of law and ensuring that the streets and public spaces are safe for all citizens.
The concerns about public intoxication were raised by citizens during an interaction with the Worthy DGP J&K on the occasion of Thana Diwas on March 6, 2025 at P/S Gandhi Nagar.

Addressing these concerns swiftly, Jammu Police has reinforced its commitment to upholding the law and ensuring that streets and public spaces remain safe for all residents. The decisive action has been widely appreciated by netizens, citizens and general public of the area with many expressing satisfaction over the police’s proactive approach.
In another unique initiative, South Zone Police have introduced an outreach program specifically designed for senior citizens. This program aims to foster trust and provide assistance by conducting regular visits, exchanging numbers, and holding information sessions on safety and legal rights, ensuring that the elderly community remains informed and secure.
These proactive measures underscore South Zone Police’s unwavering commitment to protecting the community, curbing disruptive behavior, and nurturing a positive relationship with all residents. Both the initiatives are closely supervised by SSP Jammu Shri Joginder singh. JKPS and SP South Ajay Sharma and executed by Team of SDPO South and SDPO East.
