Poonch, Jammu and Kashmir:
Two employees of the Power Development Department (PDD) lost their lives in a tragic road accident on Sunday in the Jandrola area of Poonch district, officials said.
The deceased have been identified as Chindsee Singh Sanu, son of Sukhdev Singh and a resident of Kamsar near the CEO Office, and Kulbir Singh, also a PDD employee and a resident of Mohalla Gernally, Poonch.
According to officials, the accident occurred in the Jandrola area under circumstances that are yet to be ascertained. Soon after the mishap, local residents rushed to the spot and informed the authorities. Rescue efforts were immediately launched, but both employees succumbed to their injuries.
The incident has cast a pall of gloom over the area, with colleagues, friends and locals expressing shock and grief over the sudden loss of the two government employees.
Meanwhile, the police have taken cognisance of the incident and initiated an investigation to determine the exact cause of the accident. Further details are awaited as the probe continues.
