Jammu Court Dismisses Anticipatory Bail Plea For Failure To Disclose Mandatory Details

Jammu// The Court of 1st Additional Sessions Judge, Jammu, has dismissed an anticipatory bail application for failure to comply with the mandatory disclosure requirements prescribed by the High Court of J&K and Ladakh.

The High Court, through Notification No. 1399 of 2026/RG, has amended the relevant rules to prescribe mandatory disclosures in bail applications.

The requirement is aimed at ensuring that courts are provided with full and candid particulars relevant to the consideration of bail, including information regarding the applicant’s criminal antecedents and other material proceedings.

In the present matter, the Jammu Court observed that the petitioner had not complied with the mandatory requirements contained in the High Court notification.

Holding that the application was non-compliant with the prescribed requirements, the Court dismissed the anticipatory bail plea.

The dismissal was on account of non-compliance with the mandatory disclosure requirement and not on an adjudication of the merits of the allegations. KTD
