Israel Blacklists UN Special Rapporteur Over “Oppression” Remarks
Israel has officially banned the United Nations special rapporteur on the Palestinian territories, Francesca Albanese, following her comment characterizing the October 7 attacks as a “response to Israel’s oppression.”
Foreign Minister Israel Katz and Interior Minister Moshe Arbel stated that the decision comes after months of denying her a visa.
In a joint statement, the ministers emphasized that the victims were not targeted due to their Judaism but, according to Albanese’s statement, as a response to perceived Israeli oppression.
