he Islamabad High Court (IHC) has ordered the de-sealing of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) office in Islamabad, addressing a longstanding plea from the party, ARY News reported. Judge Saman Riffat announced the reserved ruling earlier today, granting the PTI’s appeal against the closure of its office in the G-8 area of the capital.

The Capital Development Authority (CDA) had shut down the PTI office a few days prior, citing violations of building regulations. The office was closed earlier this month, and a portion of the headquarters was dismantled as part of an anti-encroachment operation. According to a CDA spokesperson, the office had established a large-scale encroachment by seizing land adjacent to the plot.

Despite multiple warnings and notices issued on November 19, 2020, February 22, 2021, June 14, 2022, and September 4, 2023, the violations were not rectified. Consequently, on May 10, 2024, the CDA ordered the sealing of the plot. The CDA maintained that the operation was part of a broader campaign against encroachment in the capital and was conducted without discrimination.
