Inter-District Kho-Kho Tournament for Girls Under 14 Begins at Bhaderwah

The Inter-District Division Level Kho-Kho tournament for girls under 14 kicked off today at the Government Degree College Bhaderwah, with ten districts from the Jammu Division participating.
The event was inaugurated by ADC Bhaderwah, Sh. Sunil Kumar (JKAS), in a ceremony organized by the Department of Youth Services and Sports (YS&S).
Teams from Jammu, Udhampur, Samba, Reasi, Poonch, Kishtwar, Rajouri, Kathua, and the host district Doda are competing in the tournament. A total of 119 participants, along with 20 contingent in-charges, have gathered for the event.
The tournament is part of the annual sports calendar of YS&S, held under the leadership of Director General Rajinder Singh Tara and supervised by DYSSO Doda, Sunil Kumar.
During the inauguration, ADC Bhaderwah stressed the significance of encouraging sports talent among girls, noting the importance of sports in cultivating leadership skills and teamwork.
He praised the efforts of the Department of Youth Services and Sports in promoting girls’ participation in athletics, particularly through events like this.
The tournament’s opening matches saw intense competition, with victories for Poonch over Kishtwar, Rajouri over Ramban, Samba over Reasi, and Jammu over Kathua. These matches were overseen by a panel of sports professionals ensuring fair play.
The tournament, which is expected to feature even more exciting matches in the coming days, provides a platform for young girls to showcase their athletic abilities and foster a sense of community through sports.
