Pakistan Navy received a distress call relayed by the Maritime Rescue Coordination Centre Mumbai and initiated an assistance operation within its search and rescue zone, media reports say.
The Pakistan Maritime Security Agency deployed a naval vessel, namely PMSS Kashmir, to provide support assistance with food, medical aid, and technical help. However, the ship’s main generator was assessed as beyond repair.
A video of the rescue operation by tweeted by the Gulf News, where MV Gautam’s crew members were seen helped by a Pakistan Navy’s boat.
