Indian Rupee Rises to 83.13 Against US Dollar Amidst Positive Market Signals
The Indian rupee gained 3 paise, reaching 83.13 against the US dollar during the early trading session on Tuesday. This increase was influenced by positive signals from the domestic stock markets and the relative weakness of the US dollar compared to other major global currencies.
Nevertheless, foreign institutional investors’ equity sell-offs and the fluctuating crude oil prices continued to exert pressure on the Indian currency, according to forex traders.
In the interbank foreign exchange market, the rupee initiated trading at 83.17 and achieved its peak at 83.10 against the US dollar. Ultimately, it settled at 83.13, marking a 3-paise upturn from its previous closing rate.
In the previous session on Friday, the rupee had concluded at 83.16 versus the dollar. Notably, forex markets were closed on Monday due to the Christmas holiday.
