    In a significant joint operation, the Indian Army and Jammu and Kashmir Police successfully recovered a substantial cache of ammunition, including explosives, from a terrorist hideout in Sarniyal Forest, Khari Tehsil of Ramban district.

    Swift Operation Based on Intelligence Inputs

    Acting on reliable intelligence about the presence of arms and ammunition in the forested area of Khari, the 23 Rashtriya Rifles (RR) of the Army and the Jammu Kashmir Police (JKP) promptly initiated an operation. Their swift response led to the discovery of the hideout.

    Recovery of a Wide Array of Ammunition

    The search operation, which continued into the late evening, led to the busting of the terrorist hideout. The forces recovered a significant haul of arms and ammunition, including 113 – 7.62 mm AK 47 Rounds, 7 – 7.62 mm Sniper Rounds, 5 – PIKA Rounds, 1 – PIKA Belt, 3 – AK-47 Magazines, 3 – Chinese Grenades, 1 – Pakistan Grenade, 2 – UBGL, 300gms of explosives, 1 – FM Transistor, 2 – Fuses, and 2 – Detonators.

    Legal Proceedings and Ongoing Investigation

    Following the recovery, an FIR was registered at the Khari police station under the relevant sections of the Arms Act and the Explosive Substances Act. The officials have commenced a detailed investigation to unravel further aspects of this case.
