India successfully conducted a flight test of the RudraM-II Air-to-Surface missile from an Indian Air Force Su-30 MK-I aircraft on Wednesday. The Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) carried out the test off the coast of Odisha at approximately 11:30 am, according to the Ministry of Defence.
The test met all trial objectives, confirming the missile’s propulsion system and control and guidance algorithms. The missile’s performance was validated using data from electro-optical systems, radar, and telemetry stations deployed by the Integrated Test Range in Chandipur, including on-board ship systems.
RudraM-II is an indigenously developed, solid-propelled, air-launched missile designed to neutralize various enemy assets. It incorporates several state-of-the-art indigenous technologies developed by DRDO laboratories.
Defence Minister Rajnath Singh congratulated DRDO, the Indian Air Force, and industry partners on the successful test, highlighting the missile system’s role as a force multiplier for the Armed Forces. Dr. Samir V. Kamat, Secretary of the Department of Defence R&D and Chairman of DRDO, also praised the DRDO team for their efforts leading to the successful flight test.
