India and China Advance Constructive and Forward-Looking Discussions on Border Situation in Ladakh

NEW DELHI, MAY 28, 2026 [VoM News]: Constructive and forward-looking discussions were held between India and China in Beijing regarding the situation along the Line of Actual Control (LAC) in eastern Ladakh.

The talks focused on maintaining peace and stability in the border areas, which, as per a PTI report, was acknowledged by both India and China.

Both countries reviewed the developments across the border and expressed satisfaction over diplomatic progress and military engagement, the Indian Foreign Ministry said.

As per the PTI report, issues related to border management, delimitation, cross-border coordination and cooperation were also discussed.

As the next Special Representatives-level dialogue is scheduled to be held in China, both countries have agreed to continue diplomatic and military-level communication.

Sujit Ghosh from the Ministry of External Affairs led the Indian delegation, whereas Hou Yanqi of the Chinese Foreign Ministry led the Chinese delegation.

As ties between India and China were strained following the Galwan clash, the recent discussions could help improve relations through mutual trust and close coordination.
