
IED-Like Object Found on JK Highway Temporarily Closed. Image/NDTV
Security forces in Jammu and Kashmir detected an object resembling an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) in the Pattan area on Monday. As a precautionary measure, traffic on the Srinagar-Baramulla national highway was temporarily suspended. The suspected IED, which was found in a bag, was located at Hanjiveera on the national highway during the early hours of the day.
A bomb disposal squad was called in to safely neutralize the suspected IED. The squad successfully removed the suspicious object to nearby fields and conducted a controlled explosion, ensuring no damage or harm resulted from the disposal.
Security forces and authorities are taking necessary precautions to maintain safety and security in the region.
