Gujarat Chief Minister Hails Union Budget 2024 as Inclusive and Development-Oriented
Terming the Union Budget 2024 as all-inclusive and development-oriented, Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel expressed confidence that it would meet the hopes and aspirations of millions of citizens. He highlighted the comprehensive nature of the budget, reflecting Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision to make India a developed country by 2047.
Praise for Innovative Initiatives and Public Welfare Approach:
CM Patel welcomed the Union Budget, particularly praising the goal of constructing 2 crore new houses in rural areas and emphasizing the significant benefits Gujarat will gain from the initiative of solar rooftops targeting 1 crore families. He described the budget as a public welfare-oriented approach, promoting the holistic development of various societal pillars, including women’s empowerment, youth empowerment, farmers, and the economically underprivileged.
Focus on Green Growth and Renewable Energy:
The central government’s announcement of measures for the promotion of green growth and renewable energy received appreciation. Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman outlined plans for rooftop solarization, aiming to provide one crore households with up to 300 units of free electricity every month.
The Ministry of Finance projected close to 7 per cent growth in the Indian economy for the financial year 2024-25, commencing in April. CM Patel acknowledged India’s economic growth trajectory and expressed optimism about the increased financial allocation of Rs. 11.11 lakh crore for developing world-class infrastructure, under the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Modi.
He also welcomed the decision to extend the duration of certain tax benefits in GIFT City, showcasing the government’s commitment to fostering economic growth and development.
