Grant of JK Govt Awards For 2025 Republic Day : Nominations Recommendations invited

Jammu Kashmir Govt has invited the nominations/recommendations for the grant of Jammu Kashmir Govt Awards for the Republic Day 2025.

Jammu Kashmir General Administration Department has issued a notification, a copy of which is also available to VoM, which reads as below:

In terms of Government Order No. 1268-JK(GAD) of 2003 dated 26.09.2003, read with Government Order No. 50-JK(GAD) of 2020 dated 09.01.2020, the procedure for conferment of “J&K Government Awards” in the Union territory of Jammu & Kashmir, has been notified.

J&K Government Awards are conferred for excellence in any of the
following fields, on the eve of Republic Day, every year:

i. Award for Bravery.
ii. Award for Achievements in the field of Literature.
iii. Award for Performing Arts.
iv. Award for Excellence in Art & Crafts.
v. Award for Social Reforms and Empowerment.
vi. Award for Meritorious Public Service (Two awards shall be
reserved for non-gazetted officials).
vii. Award for Lifetime Achievement in any other field.
viii. Award for Outstanding Sports Person.
ix. Award for Outstanding Media Person.
x. Award for Outstanding Environmentalist.
xi. Award for Outstanding Industrial Entrepreneurship.

As per the Scheme, nominations for granting J&K Government
Awards on the eve of Republic Day are invited from the following:
i. Social Organizations.
ii. Sports Bodies.
iii. NGOs.
iv. Universities.
v. J&K Academy of Art, Culture & Languages.
vi. Administrative Secretaries, in relation to awards for
Meritorious Public Service.
vii. Divisional Commissioners.
viii. Deputy Commissioners.

Accordingly, all concerned are requested to send suitable
nominations/recommendations in respect of eligible persons/organizations,
along-with citation(s) and supporting documents, by or before 15th December,
2024, for consideration for conferment of J&K Government Awards on Republic Day, 2025.
