
Govt PG College Bhaderwah Celebrates World Water Day 2025
Dept. of Zoology in collaboration with Department of Botany and Innovation Cell under the aegis of IQAC Govt PG College Bhaderwah organised a syposium and painting competation on World Water Day 2025 with the theme “Glaciers Conservation” under the patronage of Principal Dr.Attar Singh Kotwal and under the guidence of Dr.Ajaz Ahmed Wani HOD Zoology ( IQAC Coordinator). Prof.Shakeel Ahmed Khanday Head Department of Physics presided the event.
Program began with the welcome adress by Dr.Ravinder Singh HOD Botany. Dr.Wani in his introductory lecture impressed upon the water conservation of Glaciers and role to be played by every body. He stressed upon the student community to act as an ambassador for the dissemination of message among the masses regarding the importance of water and its conservation for sustainable development.
In his adress he emphasis the students community to make use of precious resources like water judiciously for human betterment. It’s not water that is getting lost from the planet rather it is the availablity of water that is varying across the planet and it is the point where management and care is needed to be inducted.
In the symposium 7 students participated in which Sadaf, Saleem Jaffer and Waseem Ahmed were adjudged ist ,2nd and 3rd respectively and in painting competation Suhani Manhas and Sheikh Abu Hamza got ist and 2nd position respectively.Dr.Swarn Singh, Dr.Isha Slathia and Dr. Sangeeta Devi act as jury members.
The other faculty members present were Prof Zain Banday,Prof.Younis and Rasheed and prof.Mohd Touseef. Whole Program was coordinated and vote of thanks by Dr.Neelam Saba department of Zoology.
