Government Seeks Approval for Net Additional Spending of Rs 58,378 Crore in Current Fiscal
The government has sought Lok Sabha approval for a net additional spending of Rs 58,378 crore in the current fiscal.
Minister of State for Finance Pankaj Chaudhary presented the first batch of supplementary demands for grants for the 2023-24 fiscal in the lower house of Parliament.
The supplementary demands include gross additional spending of over Rs 1.29 lakh crore, offset by savings of Rs 70,968 crore.
The proposed additional spending involves a net cash outgo of Rs 58,378.21 crore. Notably, it includes an expenditure of Rs 13,351 crore towards the fertilizer subsidy.
