Subsidised helicopter service approved for Jammu-Mendhar route
The Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir has been urged to claim the subsidy from the MHA within the permitted budgetary limits.
This decision followed a suggestion by Mohammad Aijaz Asad, Secretary, Civil Aviation Department, J&K, to connect Mendhar’s distant areas directly to Jammu, the winter capital.
According to Aijaz Asad, the subsidized helicopter service in the Mendhar sector is intended to improve communication in rural sections of the region, particularly those with limited accessibility.
He underlined that this initiative will greatly benefit commuters, particularly those who live in rural locations such as Poonch and Mendhar. This will also help with emergency patient evacuation when needed.
