
Gold Dust Worth Over Rs One Crore Seized at Mumbai Airport
Customs officials at Mumbai airport seized two kilograms of gold dust, valued at over Rs one crore, from an Indian family arriving from Singapore.
The gold dust was concealed in the undergarments of the couple and their three-year-old child. Mumbai Customs officers made the seizure on September 12, 2023, based on profiling.
The gold dust, which weighed 2.0 kilograms and was 24 KT, was hidden in the inner garments of the two passengers and in the diaper of the child.
In a separate incident, Air Customs Intelligence at Cochin International Airport in Kerala arrested an individual with over 700 grams of gold paste concealed inside his rectum. The seized gold paste was valued at Rs 40 lakh.
