Goa CM Expects Record Turnout as Voting Begins

Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant expressed confidence in witnessing a remarkable voter turnout as he cast his vote in the North Goa district. Sawant projected enthusiasm among the electorate, suggesting a potential turnout of over 75%, emphasizing their support for development initiatives.
Meanwhile, BJP candidate Pallavi Dempo, contesting from the South Goa Lok Sabha seat, urged citizens to exercise their democratic rights, underscoring the significance of voting. However, shortly after her vote, a complaint was filed alleging a violation of the Model Code of Conduct, prompting scrutiny from electoral authorities.
The election process in Goa is witnessing active participation, with a notable voter turnout of 30.94%. As the state engages in the electoral process, Maharashtra lags behind with an 18.18% turnout. The South Goa Lok Sabha constituency, along with North Goa, is actively voting during the third phase of the 2024 elections, with results expected on June 4.
