Fresh Gunfight Breaks Out in Ongoing Kishtwar Encounter
SRINAGAR: After a prolonged lull, a fresh gunfight broke out between militants and security forces in the Singhpura Chatroo area of Kishtwar district in Jammu and Kashmir on Thursday.
Officials said that after contact was lost with militants three days back, contact has been again established with the militants.
He said that intense exchange of fire with militants is underway.
It’s worth mentioning that three days ago an encounter broke out between terrorists and security forces in the Singhpura Chatroo area.
During the firefight, one para‑trooper was killed and around half a dozen soldiers were injured. The militants managed to escape, and security forces had launched a massive cordon in the area to apprehend them. (GNS)
