Fraudsters Arrested in Baramulla for Vehicle and Job Scams

In a significant breakthrough, police in Jammu and Kashmir’s Baramulla district have arrested three individuals for allegedly cheating people.

The arrests were made on Saturday, and the suspects are accused of defrauding victims under the pretense of selling and purchasing vehicles and promising government jobs in reputable institutions such as banks and government departments.

The Baramulla police acted swiftly, registering a case at Kreeri police station under section 318(4) of the Bharatiya Nyay Sanhita (BNS). This led to the apprehension of the three accused.

The arrested individuals have been identified as Mudasir Ahmad Mir, a resident of Thindma; Firdosue Ahmad Mir, also known as Sameer Khan, of Mughalpora Tangmarg, currently residing in Chanpora, Srinagar; and Syed Akther, a resident of Sonlipora Tanmarg.

    Police Investigation and Accusations

The police statement revealed that the trio was part of a well-coordinated gang that exploited the trust of unsuspecting individuals by promising them vehicles and lucrative government jobs.

These fraudulent activities not only caused financial losses to the victims but also tarnished the reputation of genuine institutions. The accused are now in police custody as the investigation continues to unfold.

    Further Arrests Expected

The police have indicated that the probe is ongoing and additional arrests are likely as they dig deeper into the gang’s operations.

This case highlights the importance of vigilance and caution when dealing with offers that seem too good to be true.

The Baramulla police are committed to bringing all involved to justice and have urged the public to come forward with any information that could assist in the investigation.

This swift action by the police serves as a warning to other fraudsters operating in the region.
