Formation of District Media Association Doda
Doda, October 13, 2024: In a significant development, more than 30 media professionals from various parts of the Doda district gathered physically at the Town Hall in Doda today, with over a dozen participating online. Media persons representing regions including Bhadarwah, Gandoh, Thathri, and other parts of the district convened to discuss challenges and concerns facing the media community.
The meeting culminated in the formation of a new media association, named the District Media Association of Doda. Senior journalist and veteran media professional, Fiaz Pampori, was unanimously nominated as the President of the Association, marking a pivotal moment in unifying media personnel under a common platform.
In his address to the attendees, Fiaz Pampori expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the media fraternity for entrusting him with the leadership of the newly established association. He emphasized the importance of collective efforts in resolving the issues being faced by media persons and highlighted the significance of unity in the media community.
Speaking on the occasion, Fiaz Pampori said, “It is a proud moment for all media professionals of Doda to come together under one umbrella. This association will serve as a united platform to raise our concerns and work towards resolving the challenges we face as media persons. I sincerely thank all the members for appointing me as president, and I assure you all that I will always be available to work for the welfare and rights of our media community.”
He further appealed to the association members to remain united and committed to the values of journalism and pledged his unwavering support to ensure the association functions effectively in the interest of all its members.
The formation of the District Media Association has been welcomed by media professionals across the district as a much-needed step to address their issues and create a strong, cohesive voice for the media in Doda. This association will work towards safeguarding the interests of journalists and media persons, focusing on their welfare and resolving professional challenges collectively.
