A tragic accident occurred on the Delhi-Jaipur Highway near Sidhrawali village in Gurugram on Friday night, resulting in the loss of four lives. The incident involved an oil tanker, a car, and a pickup van, highlighting the perils of highway travel and the potential dangers of vehicular accidents.
Details of the Catastrophic Collision
According to Vinod Kumar, the investigation officer at Bilaspur police station, the accident was initiated when an oil tanker, coming from Jaipur, breached the divider and collided with a car. The car’s occupants, who were reportedly traveling towards Jaipur, were trapped inside as the vehicle caught fire, attributed to the CNG cylinders it contained. This fire led to the unfortunate demise of all three passengers in the car.
Second Collision and Additional Casualty
The situation escalated when, after hitting the car, the oil tanker then collided with a pickup van on the highway. This subsequent collision resulted in the instantaneous death of the van’s driver. The police, upon arrival at the scene, discovered the car completely engulfed in flames and the van’s driver deceased, adding to the gravity of the accident.
Ongoing Search for the Tanker Driver
The driver of the oil tanker, responsible for the initial collision, fled the scene following the accident. Police efforts to locate and apprehend the driver are currently ongoing.
