Speaking at an Indian community event in Washington DC, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar expressed his view that it is challenging to place limits on the India-US relationship. He emphasized that the two countries now see each other as “desirable, optimal, and comfortable partners.” Jaishankar stated that the relationship between India and the United States has consistently exceeded expectations, making it difficult to define or set specific expectations.

He highlighted the growing need for India and the US to work together, emphasizing that it is in Washington’s interest to have partners who speak positively about America. Jaishankar noted that as the two countries collaborate in various domains, they continue to find new areas of cooperation and achieve together.

The minister also made reference to ISRO’s Chandrayaan lunar mission, suggesting that bilateral ties between India and the US will reach new heights and extend beyond their current achievements. He encouraged continued support for the partnership between the two nations, expressing confidence that it will continue to flourish.

Jaishankar’s remarks come after his meetings with US officials, including Secretary of State Antony Blinken and Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin, during his visit to Washington.
