The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has filed a petition with the High Court seeking the cancellation of bail granted to former minister Choudhary Lal Singh. Singh, who is currently a Congress candidate for the Udhampur-Doda Lok Sabha seat, was arrested by the ED last year in connection with an alleged money laundering case involving an educational trust run by his wife, former MLA Kanta Andotra.

    Alleged Money Laundering Case

Choudhary Lal Singh, a two-time MP, was arrested by the ED in connection with the money laundering case registered against the educational trust run by his wife. The Directorate’s investigation into the case led to Singh’s arrest, and he was subsequently granted bail

The Enforcement Directorate is now seeking the cancellation of Lal Singh’s bail through their appeal to the High Court. However, the High Court has not yet addressed the petition filed by the ED.

    Pending Decision

As of now, the High Court has not made a decision regarding the Enforcement Directorate’s petition to cancel Lal Singh’s bail. The matter remains pending before the court, awaiting further legal proceedings and deliberation.
