
Earthquake of Magnitude 5.9 Strikes HinduKush Afghanistan; Tremors Felt Across Afghanistan, Pakistan India, Jammu Kashmir
A earthquake measuring 5.9 on Richter scale strikes Afganisthan’s earthquake prone area(epicentre) HinduKush, trembling the panic across Afganistan, India and Pakistan.
The earthquake was also felt in Jammu Kashmir at around 4:43 am IST, which struck with the latitude and longitude of 35.83 and 70.60, having a depth of 75km.
The epicenter was approximately;190 km northeast of Kabul, Afghanistan, 327 km northwest of Islamabad, Pakistan, 343 km south-southeast of Dushanbe, Tajikistan, 397 km west-northwest of Gulmarg, Jammu and Kashmir, India, 428 km west-northwest of Srinagar, Jammu and Kashmir, India.
Residents across the parts of Afghanistan, northern Pakistan, Tajikistan, and India’s Jammu and Kashmir region felt tremor. No casualty has been reported.
As the area lies in active seismic zone, resulting in moderate to strong earthquake earthquakes.
