In its ongoing commitment to combat the spread of illicit drugs within society, the police have apprehended a drug peddler in the Baramulla district of North Kashmir, confiscating illegal substances from his possession.

A spokesperson revealed that a police team from the Kunzer Police Station, led by the Station House Officer (SHO) at PS Kunzer, intercepted an individual at a checkpoint in Rambailpora Kunzer. A thorough search uncovered 110 grams of a contraband substance resembling Charas in the individual’s possession.

The arrested person was identified as Irshad Ahmad Wani, the son of Ghulam Rasool Wani and a resident of Padithpora Tangmarg. Following his apprehension, he was taken into custody at PS Kunzer.

Subsequently, a case has been registered under the relevant sections of the law at the Kunzer Police Station, and investigations into the matter have been initiated. This latest action reflects the police’s ongoing efforts to eliminate the drug menace and maintain public safety in the region.
