Doda West MLA Shakti Raj Parihar Meets Union Minister Jitendra Singh, Thanks Centre for ₹9,780 Cr Tunnel Projects in Doda

DODA, Apr 23 (VoM News): Shakti Raj Parihar on Wednesday met Union Minister Jitendra Singh in the national capital and expressed gratitude for the approval of mega tunnel projects worth ₹9,780 crore for the erstwhile Doda district.

During the meeting, Parihar thanked the Centre for clearing key infrastructure works, including the Sudhmahadev–Dranga Twin Tube Tunnel and the Singhpora–Vailoo Twin Tube Tunnel. He said the projects would improve connectivity and provide all-weather access to the hilly districts of Doda, Kishtwar and adjoining areas.

“These projects will transform road connectivity in the region and open up new avenues for economic growth,” Parihar said, adding that residents have long awaited such infrastructure upgrades.

The MLA also raised concerns over unconnected habitations under the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana and urged the minister to ensure inclusion of pending roads in the scheme’s upcoming fourth phase.

He further stressed the need for timely execution of centrally sponsored schemes in Jammu and Kashmir to ensure that benefits reach people on the ground without delays.

Responding to the concerns, Singh assured continued support from the Centre and reiterated the government’s focus on strengthening infrastructure and accelerating development in the region.

Parihar said he remains hopeful that ongoing and upcoming projects will contribute to sustained growth in the Chenab Valley and improve living conditions in remote areas.
