
Doda Police organises awareness program on new Criminal Laws at Town Hall Doda
JAN, 22-2025: In ongoing move to create awareness and educate the general masses about recently amended criminal laws, on the directions of SSP Doda Sh Sandeep Mehta JKPS, awareness programme was organized in Town Hall Doda.
The initiative is aimed to familiarize general public with new legal provisions enabling them to remain well informed and knowledgeable to deal the situation effectively with evolving legal framework.
During the session, SP Hqrs Doda Sh Shakeel Rehman Bhatt was the main resource person. He highlighted the key aspects of new criminal laws and threw light on its benefits on society by implementing and adhering these legal norms for maintaining law and order.
The programme was attended by large number of citizen from different walks of life. The Awareness was given regarding the changes modifications, addition and deletion of sections in older IPC , CrPC and IEA and the adoption and enactment of new laws viz, BNS 2023, BNSS 2023 and BSA 2023 and their implementation since Ist July 2024.

The Citizens were also made aware regarding the latest use of technology, apps, electronic and digital evidences their collection, preservation and Presentation in the courts of law. Crimes against women, Children and weaker sections of society, environmental offences, rights and liberties of citizens, rights of victims and accused were also given due share in the awareness campaign.
In today’s gathering a large number of women and girl students also participated. The campaign programme remained quite interactive and participative.
The Public has been requested to take maximum participation in such programmes and also spread awareness among other people of society.
