District Authorities Heighten Campaign Against Drug Abuse in Doda
DODA, JANUARY 16: In a concerted effort to address the rising issue of drug abuse, District Magistrate Harvinder Singh and Senior Superintendent of Police Abdul Qayoom have called for increased vigilance in Educational Institutions, Medical Stores, and Medical institutions.
Addressing the 19th NCORD meeting, the DM reiterated the district administration’s commitment to tackling the spread of drug abuse. The focus was on intensifying efforts against habitual offenders, drug peddlers, and their supporters to free the district from the clutches of drug abuse.
During the meeting, it was emphasized that collaborative endeavors have successfully eliminated the drug menace in several Panchayats, leading to their declaration as drug-free zones. The pivotal role played by stakeholders and PRIs in achieving this milestone was acknowledged. To confirm suspicions, the active utilization of drug testing kits guides subsequent courses of action.
The meeting extensively discussed both the achievements and future plans to effectively combat the drug menace in the district. SSP Doda, serving as the Convener of NCORD, affirmed the district police’s full commitment to eradicating and monitoring drug activities across Doda.
